"My big problem with Kay's bodywork is deciding which kind to have! So I rotate them all: Thai, traditional table, and Rossiter. Magic hands, healing heart."
- Susan
The Dry Treatment Area
This treatment area offers both table massage and massage on the floor...with some fun add-on options. Take a look!
Massage On The Table:
- One hour - 1.5 hours - 2 hours - 2.5 hours
Your massage always includes the comfort of a warming neck pillow and a gentle foot wash with hot, wet towels.
Then, you may select from a wide range of massage modalities I've refined and road-tested over two decades of clinical experience - including relaxing Hawaiian Lomi Lomi strokes, Swedish techniques, sports massage moves, stretches from Thai massage and other modalities, and fascial release work. I will collaborate with you to create a treatment that meets your exact specifications to accomplish your goals for the session.
Table Massage Add-ons (no extra charge)
Allow me to spoil you with:
Hot stones
Strategic placement with hot stones provides penetrating heat, warming and softening the muscles. Perfect for preparing problem areas for massage, or plain old relaxation.
Hot towel treatment
Hot, wet, gently scented towels warm the skin and muscles, preparing areas for treatment.

Dry brush scrub
With a gentle boar's bristle brush in each hand, I exfoliate the entire body, to rid you of the most superficial layer of dead skin before oiling you up.
Barefoot Body Bliss
- One hour - 1.5 hours - 2 hours - 2.5 hours
Deep tissue massage with the practitioner using her feet instead of her hands, Barefoot Body Bliss is done with the client unclothed (draped, as for a table massage) with oil and/or lotion. The client may be on a mat on the floor or on the massage table, and can combine this modality with a more conventional massage as well.

Massage On The Floor (Thai Massage):
- One hour - 1.5 hours - 2 hours - 2.5 hours - 3 hours
Traditional Massage of Thailand is said to have originated over 2,500 years ago with the renowned physician Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha in India, who attended Sakyamuni, the historical Buddha, and the monks and nuns of the sangha, or community of his followers.
The theoretical basis of Thai massage is the existence of the "energy body," which includes 72,000 "sen" or energy lines. Thai massage addresses the ten main sen with pressure on specific points along these lines. Using compressions and stretches, I release blockages to restore the free flow of your life energy. Thai massage takes place on a thick foam mat on the floor. You are dressed in comfortably loose, stretchy clothing. Using no oil or lotion, I facilitate the free flow of energy by using thumbs, elbows, feet and hands to stretch, compress, knead and soften your muscles, increasing the range of motion for your joints, while relaxing and refreshing you at the same time.

The Rossiter Workout
An alternative, natural and effective way of getting your body out of pain.
- 30 minutes - 45 minutes
The Rossiter Workout is to get you out of pain - right now. You are fully clothed on a mat on the floor, and, as your Rossiter coach, I apply weight with my foot. You are actively involved in finding the pain and stretching the fascia until you are sweating and begging for mercy.
- Knee pain
- Low back pain and sciatica
- Stiff necks
- Sore shoulders
- Achy feet and stiff knees
- Hip pain
- Arm, wrist and elbow pain
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Elbow tendonitis
Developed for over 20 years by Richard Rossiter, a Rolfer, this workout is a superbly effective way to soften and lengthen the fascia, restoring balance to the body and movement to the joints while eliminating nagging, persistent pain. If you'd like more information, visit the Rossiter System website or we can talk about it when we set up your appointment.

The Wet Treatment Area
This treatment area offers body scrubs, wraps, sauna and steam.
Body Scrubs
- The scrub (typically 30 minutes) makes a perfect prelude to a relaxing oil massage on a conventional table or to Thai massage in the dry room. For others, it is an end in itself.
A gentle scrub with organic soap and scrubby gloves. This treatment unclogs pores and removes dirt, oil, and dead skin cells from the outermost layers of the skin to revealing the healthier, underlying layers. Your skin becomes soft, smooth and glowing.
Before a scrub, plan on using the steam and/or sauna for warmth and relaxation. After a quick shower you enter the wet room and lie on the scrub table. The exfoliating scrub is applied with massage in mind; in other words, with skilled hands that knead your muscles as they condition your skin.
With your choice of organic soap scented with:
Almond - Lavender - Grapefruit - Lemongrass - Eucalyptus
Body Scrub Add-Ons
- Coconut Oil Hair Soak (20 minutes)
A tradition from India to give your hair a lustrous glow, warm coconut oil is massaged into your hair and scalp and left to soak during your scrub. Shampoos out with your post-scrub shower, or you can leave it in.
- Post-scrub Wrap with Masque (20 minutes)
Best nap ever! You're rubbed down with shea butter, cocoa butter or soaked in honey, wrapped in dry cotton, then mylar, then a wool blanket. You relax, sweat and moisturize while the organic food masque refreshes your face.
- Post-scrub Moisturizing Treatment
(milk, honey, coconut oil, 15 minutes)
Massage combined with food - could life get any better? The lactic acid in the warm milk gently exfoliates, the oil lubricates and quenches thirsty skin, and the honey, a humectant, seals the moisture into your skin, leaving a thin layer even after rinsing.
Body Wraps
Starting with a steam or sauna, you are then coated with your choice of cocoa butter, shea nut butter or honey.
Steam
- Up to 30 minutes
Relax and breathe deep to moisturize your lungs in the steam enclosure/shower unit
just big enough for two.
Sauna
- 30 minutes highly recommended to maximize detox benefits
Here at Crow's Wing Spa you can experience the Zen 3 Far Infrared sauna, the best available today. The far infrared rays penetrate about two inches into your body to increase circulation, warm joints and muscles, and give you a mild cardiovascular workout (caused by the effort to sweat), causing you to burn a surprising number of calories.
The Zen 3 Sauna fits either two persons seated, or one person lying down.
To receive the full benefit of far infrared, 30 minutes is recommended.
